This was a fun but challenging site, built on the WordPress framework using designs supplied by Phil Bridges, Design & Marketing Director for xWorks. As an accomplished print designer, Phil had a very clear and concise idea of how he wanted to the site to look & function, so it was mostly a case of working from supplied Illustrator files with Phil to help realise his vision within the browser environment.

The site uses jQuery to handle all carousels, page sliding & reveals, as well as the modal window popups. The site is also one of the first we have developed to extensively use the ‘Flutter’ plugin for WordPress, which allows us to modify the WordPress backend to customise it to the customers exact content requirements, rather than requiring too much knowledge of the WordPress admin from the client.

The Surf Doctor is the internet home of Neil Clifton, ex-English surfing champ & English team coach. Neil certainly hasn’t lost his ability or his status as one of the UK’s top underground surfers as he nears his 40’s, but has now turned his energy to passing on his vast reserves of knowledge & ability through tailor-made surf coaching sessions. The Surf Doctor will not offer you the standard surf lesson experience. Rather than that, he will craft sessions to your exact requirements, whether that be watching warm-up surf movies, shadowing sessions, video analysis; if your surfing isn’t looking well, the Doc will heal you!
