Fans of the cult documentary or ‘rockumentary’ ‘Spinal Tap’ will recall the moment where lead guitarist Nigel Tufnell stuggles to explain the concept of the bands modified amplifiers, that ‘go to 11 when they need that extra push over the cliff’.
